Stress eating and the aspirin mask

For those of you “stress eaters” out there, has a bottomless trough of peas and carrots ever done the trick? Yeah, I didn’t think so!

It was definitely a stress eating day for me, but miraculously just about everything I ate was within the realm of “healthy”.
Smoothie with Greek yogurt, almond milk, banana and frozen mango, pineapple and banana.

And because I had the munchies, Greek yogurt with Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter and fresh strawberries. Think I had enough yogurt today?

Speaking of stress…. Not only do I try to eat the world when, my skin breaks out too! This weekend, I officially became the poster child for “why it’s bad to pick at your face”.

20130415-194533.jpgI know that was a repeat picture but it shows the gnarly spot pretty well. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see Charlie twice?

Good ol’ google told me I could heal an angry blemish with an aspirin mask: 2 crushed aspirin mixed with a couple tablespoons yogurt and a teaspoon of honey. While it wasn’t magic, it mellowed out the worst offender. Plus it made my skin kind of glowy. It’s a handy trick to know.

Newly landed on my wish list: clear skin even when life is bumpy. Yet another compelling reason to eat well. As if there weren’t enough already. 😉
