“Let yourself be drawn…” (January re-cap)
Wow, is January gone already? It has been such a good month that I’m actually a little sad to see it go. 2014 has gotten off to a really good start. Here are some of the highlights from Puhau Place:
* I set a goal of (running) 50 miles for the month of January, and just tallied the total: 80.1 ! Not too shabby considering the couch potato groove I had fallen into last year. I feel great about this little accomplishment. 🙂
*Hawea and I got started with our kiddos in the Project Visitation program, and we’re looking forward to the group event at Volcano next month! (If anyone reading is interested in facilitating visits for siblings separated from foster care, let me know and I’ll point you in the right direction! )
*I started a new job! Yes, that’s right … Good-bye, Multi-Systemic Therapy; Hello, new position ! In the short time that I have been in my new role, I have realized what a tremendous opportunity this is to make a difference in the lives of children. What do you think, did this Facebook quiz get it right?
*And, last but not least, we’ve been busy (and having a blast) bringing a new vision to life. Hawea and I joined forces with the lovely, brilliant and talented likes of Katherine Patton, Jeanette Baysa and Juanette Baysa in the development of a property / rehabbing business. Introducing Aloha BP Homes!
How cool is that?!!? It’s pretty fun and exciting (in so many ways) to be a part of this team. I can’t wait to share more with you as we move along.
So there you have it: January in a nutshell. If this month is any indication of the rest of the year, it’s gonna be a GOOD one !!
