Day 2: Big Love for Byron Katie

Yes, yes, yes!! I get to write about LOVE!!!! You have no idea how much this excites me.

Many years ago, I worked part time at Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center while also working at my “real job”. My friends were advancing in their careers (passing bar exams, becoming seasoned teachers, getting promoted to management) and then there was little ol’ woo-woo me.

While assigning guests to their rooms, signing them up for workshops and programs, selling gift shop items, providing tours, and manning the library, I was also learning about energy and chakras, reiki, healing touch and kinesiology, the Law of Attraction, creative visualization, meditation, manifestation, synchronicity and more.

It was there that I encountered Byron Katie’s book: Loving What Is. This work had a huge impact on the way I started to view the world, and I can honestly say it has been life changing. I’ve given friends copies, never knowing if it will sit with them the way it has with me.

So, I leave you with my appreciation and love for:
* positive, loving energy
* for people with open minds and open hearts
* and for Byron Katie’s refreshing approach of letting people and things be just the way they are.

  1. Haven’t read this one yet…it sounds great so I guess I’ll put it on my wish list…I’m currently reading The Unteathered Soul by Michael Singer and all I can say is WOW and I think you would love it!

  2. Also Vicki, I think it’s up your alley and I do think you would appreciate it. I have extra copy if you’d like me to send it your way, message me your address! She’s done some speaking engagements with our pal Wayne. 🙂
