First things first: I invite you to join me for a moment of silence in memory of our feathered friend, Mr. Peepers. He survived longer than we expected ( just long enough for us to think he had a fighting chance) but as it turned out, a long life was not to be. We laid him to rest yesterday afternoon with a proper burial.
Although yesterday was about Mr. Peepers, today was all about Charlie Rose.
We couldn’t get in at Shear Magic Pet Salon, so we checked out Downtown Dogs.
All in all, it was a good experience.
I was clueless when asked what kind of cut I wanted. Um, “cute”?
She ended up with the bowl-head vibe, aka the obligatory-awkward-school-pic look.
I think she’s rockin’ it.
And now, for tasty highlights of the past few days.
I woke up this morning being grateful, and I mean GRATEFUL, for coffee.
I’m also grateful for fresh fruits and veggies, and access to a quality juicer. Shown below, pomelo from a backyard tree, and fresh
carrot /celery / cucumber / apple / lemon juice.
For Easter Dinner, Vea baked a ham with a wasabi / brown sugar glaze, yams with yogurt spread, and baby romaine salad. I think we’ll be eating ham for weeks.
Night 2 of ham: I opted out of the meat and went with a veggie plate. Delicious discovery of the night : yams and avocado taste completely amazing together. Try it sometime!
And last but not least, the great easter candy (m&m’s) buffet: pretzel, almond, mint and coconut. But you know what they say, “no pictures, no proof”. Guess that means it didn’t happen. 🙂
